What Does the following Anti Hcv Test Result Mean?

I have just received the Lab report of my mothers Anti HCV and the result is reactive.
Her value is 11.07 whereas the cutoff value is 1.00.
She is also a diabetic patient and is currently on dialysis.
She needs to have a kidney transplant, what should we do in order to go ahead with the transplant with such result?

thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....

anti HCV results 11.07 or reactive means your mother is hepatitis C infected....
i would suggest you to consult your transplant surgeon that whether kidney transplant should be advocated now....
it is generally recommended to do an interferon monotherapy for hcv infection in dialysis patient before renal transplant is planned....because hcv and liver diseases are risk factors for mortality in renal transplant recipients...

hope this was helpful.....
regards
